The Importance of Estate Planning

Plan for Your Family's Future

Estate Planning

Estate planning is not just for the wealthy.  A proper estate plan can make sure that your affairs are in order at your incapacity or death.

Strategic Planning Session

Most people believe they do not have an “estate” so they do not need to have an estate plan. This could not be further from the truth as estate planning is a tool that can benefit all individuals. A properly established estate plan will help determine who will care for your minor children should you become incapacitated or die,  as well as determine who is to receive your assets and how they are to receive said assets at your death.

Estate plans may include either a Last Will & Testament or a Revocable Trust. The plan should also include a Declaration of Guardianship for you and your minor children, Durable Power of Attorney, Healthcare/Medical Power of Attorney, Advance Healthcare Directive, HIPAA Form and other necessary legal documents.

It is important to know that estate planning is not a cookie cutter matter that some form off the internet can solve. Our attorneys will sit down with you to find out what your goals are for your estate plan and then provide you with recommendations that will fit your specific needs and goals. It is also important to make sure that as your goals change over the years that you make sure your estate plan is updated properly.
